Web Services Outage and Our May/June 2019 Dev Update
The Website and Our Webservices Went Down and the Fallout is Interesting
Hello again everyone, we missed the last dev update due to issues we were having with the website, and all our web services in general. Our website went down on April 22nd and was down for just over three weeks. This was due to an attack on our previous web host servers which they didn’t really handle well. Then once our web host got things back up and running again, they were not all as they should be, so we’ve been dealing with that and have migrated to a new web host as of mid-June. We have a more direct relationship with this host, and they assure us that all the necessary tech is in place to prevent the site ever going down for an extended period again, barring the end of civilization as we know it, that is. Also, this new relationship allows us to get in direct contact with them should anything happen and work with them on getting things back up and running as normal in short order, again zombie apocalypse excluded. We’re also working with this new web host in other cool and exciting ways around server tech and games which we’ll be talking more about as it develops. On the community front, we’ve launched our Support Us page with information on all the ways you can currently support our game development, and our Discord Server for a more direct way to chat with everyone, so head over and check them out, and if you haven’t already joined our Discord Server feel free to do so. In addition to all this, we’ve been working on our streaming and have been streaming on Wednesdays and Saturdays at 8pm. That schedule is not permanent, so check back for a more set and regular schedule soon.
In the last update we didn’t talk much about our titles except to say they were coming along, so here’s a bit more on both and some info about other upcoming stuff. K3D has seen a small bit of work but due to our other technical issues has mostly had to take a back seat to our working those out; we’ll be pouring more into it as things normalize and working both the PC port and the new capabilities forward. Raptors’ Realm has also not seen the level of dev we wished to give it for the same reason; however, it has gotten some attention and has been coming along nicely with new art, updated control and flight capabilities and some other gems we’re getting in place as we drive it toward alpha. We’ve also been working on a new gaming experience which we’re calling InExternity and is turning out to be pretty awesome, if we do say so ourselves. This new game is a mix of digital content and other content, including real world interactivity, and we’ll be launching it at an event soon. Check out our next live stream for more info. How’s that for wetting your whistle?
Well unless you’re a Dev Dawg, that’s all for now. If you are a Dev Dawg, read on for more juicy details and some special Dev Dawg only announcements. If you’re interested in becoming a Dev Dawg, bounce back by as the Dev Dawgs will be launching to the general public soon. Be sure to circle back around next month for another update, expansion on what’s going on with all our titles, and more.
